Our PCV Training / PSV training is based in East London. PCV (Public Carriage Vehicle) was formerly known as PSV (Public Service Vehicle), and anyone who passes a PCV Driving test, will be allowed to drive a PCV vehicle of that particular category for hire and reward. Our PSV / PCV trainining courses in East London are taught by DSA instructors, who have an enviable success record for people passing their PCV Bus, PCV Coach test & PCV minibus test first time.
In order to get an PCV Category D or Category D1 licence, you need to be at least 17 years of age and have a full driving licence with Category B. Once you have obtained your Category B licence, you must then complete an PCV medical examination (same medical exam as for LGV, so if you currently have a valid LGV medical, then you will not need to get a PCV medical), and then apply to the DVLA to add provisional entitlements to your licence for you to learn to drive PCV's (Public Carriage Vehicle's). We suggest that when applying to the DVLA to add your PCV provisional entitlement (Category D & Category D1), that you also consider applying for provisional entitlement for LGV (Long Goods Vehicles - Category C & Category C+E), as it is simply a case of ticking the box on the application form, and just like the PCV provisional entitlement, is completely free of charge to apply for, and once added as a provisional entitlement to your licence, will remain there should you require it in the future with no need to re-apply.
Once you have passed your PSV / PCV medical exam, and obtained your provisional licence, you will then need to sit and pass your PSV/PCV theory test . Once you have passed your PCV theory test, you can then book onto one of our PCV training courses, and look forward to receiving the best possible PCV training to help ensure you pass your PCV practical test first time.
We have outlined our PCV training courses below, and you can view more details about your chosen PCV training course by clicking on the "info button". Please remeber when deciding which PSV course would suit you best, that if you try to select a shorter PCV cousre to try to save yourself money, you may not pass your PCV test first time, and may end up spending more money on re-tests than if you selected the most appropriate course in the first place. Details of our PCV courses can be found on their respective pages, and we advise that if you are unsure which PCV training course to select, that you contact our office so we can help advise you which of our PCV training courses would be most ideal for you and help guarantee that aspired first time pass which is greatly envied by other training schools.
